One of my tasks in helping the community to understand the value of Graydon is to document it not only in the summer but in fall, winter, and spring. I take photos that document not only its natural beauty but its function in providing a place for stormwater to go, preventing floods.
I took some photos on March 19, 2010, a week after the storm that knocked out everyone’s power. The Village of Ridgewood had drained the pond (I prefer to call it a lake) before the storm to make room for water. Now there was plenty of water in it. I also saw the natural springs bubbling up.
