The lifeguards at Graydon Pool, Ridgewood, NJ, took the opportunity during a period of heavy rain on July 26, 2010, to keep in shape and hone their teamwork with a serious game of beach Ultimate Frisbee (a football-like game).
(Because thunder had been heard in the vicinity, NJ’s bathing code dictated that no swimming was permitted for 45 minutes.)
In addition to frisbee games, Graydon’s sandy beaches provide an ideal surface for beach volleyball, badminton, horseshoes, and beach paddle ball. The Graydon Pool badge office has all the equipment and will lend it, free, to any badge holder for use at Graydon.
